We appreciate your interest in the Komodo/Dragon chess engine. Following nearly nineteen years of development and reflecting the ongoing progression of chess engine technology, it has been decided that sales will be discontinued, effective on May 31st, 2026.

The engine has undergone significant evolution since its inception as the Doch engine in 2007 and its subsequent transition to Komodo in 2010. This development spans from the initial commercial release of Komodo 4 through Komodo 12.3—which introduced Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS)—to the 2020 launch of Dragon 1 featuring NNUE technology. The final production iteration, Dragon 3.3, was released in October 2023.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the community for their support over the years. The website will remain operational until July 31st, 2026 to ensure users can access their previous purchases and download relevant engine files.
